CIPFA-Penna are working in partnership with a unitary council in the North-West region to source an Interim Head of Internal Audit for a period of approx. 6 months.

Broadly speaking, the appointed candidate will develop, lead and manage the annual audit plan and delivery of its core objectives. This will include continuous updates to, and improvement of the internal control, governance and compliance frameworks, presenting to the audit & governance committee and the facilitation of training / support to team members and internal stakeholders across the council.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading and executing internal audit plans in a local authority environment and will be a qualified accountant (CIPFA or equivalent). Please contact jonathon.sheppard@penna.com for more information.

New requirement for an interim Payroll specialist for a local Authority to be responsible for the delivery of the payroll function. The role will includes the supervision and management of the payroll officers. Additionally, the role will act as support for the project management in the delivery of the new ERP system at the authority.
